The role of poverty and its nexus with environmental sustainability is very key. Poverty alleviation is the set of steps taken in an economic and humanitarian way for eradicating poverty from a country. According to the World Bank, if a person is living on $1.90 a day or less, then he/she is living in extreme poverty, and currently, 767 million people of the world fall under that category. The latest figure shows that over 105 million Nigerians currently live in extreme poverty – from 98 million in October 2019. The figures represent 51% of the population. SRADev Nigeria in our bid to ensure sustainable living in the environments will inadvertently be alleviating poverty as a more human-centric program approach is considered in our advocacy.
