SRADeV Nigeria as a local partner with other organizations is implementing the pilot Project titled E-waste compensation as an International financing mechanism in Nigeria.

The 15-month pilot project that commenced in January 2021 is being jointly implemented by Oeko-Institut e.V. (Germany), Closing the Loop (Netherlands), Hinckley Group (Nigeria), and Verde Impacto (Nigeria) and is funded by the German PREVENT Waste Alliance. The pilot project will end in March 2022.

The E-waste compensation as an international financing mechanism in Nigeria (ECoN) pilot project held its inception and introduction meeting on 11th May 2021. The virtual meeting was to familiarize project stakeholders with the e-waste project and seeking for sound alignment with the e-waste related activities in Nigeria. Subsequently, it was to facilitate an expert stakeholder group that accompanies the project during it duration from the Nigerian policy perspective.

Hence the meeting was well attended by relevant government ministries and agencies, organizations, and associations with which the project will be working.
