To cushion the effect of Covid-19 on the activities and productivity of the organization, The SRADeV team embarked on a wellness trip funded by the International Pollutants Elimination Network (IPEN). We visited the 2 nature resorts: Omu Resort and Lufasi Nature Park.
Our arrival at Lufasi Nature Park was one to remember. We were welcomed by the founder, Desmond Majekodunmi, who took us around the park to experience nature to the fullest. We got to explore wildlife, Lake Nora, Ekki forest, the lovely fern garden.
One interesting thing about the Ekki forest is forest bathing which is said to have some natural benefits like relieving stress, we also got to speak with Miss Mirabel who spoke to us about the importance of Yoga and various exercises to help our bodies relieve stress.
Also, Desmond Majekodunmi Spoke to us about the impact of the covid 19 pandemic. He said “we should care for nature and understand the part of the scriptures which commands us to replenish the earth. If nature didn’t exist, we wouldn’t have anywhere to relax and that the pandemic is one of the manifestations of the uncouth behavior against wildlife and the ecosystem”. The lesson is that we have to change, renew our minds, and have reverence for creation. He also advised us to have a positive mindset and focus on good thoughts which will help relieve our stress from the busy Lagos life.
Our experience at Omu Resort was an exciting one, we were involved in various fun-filled activities like kayaking, horse-riding, roller-coaster rides, and lots more. We got to unwind from the stress.
